50 Paintings 50 Days - Allison Robertson of The Donnas - 30Nov10

Allison Robertson of the Donnas. 30 minutes. 30Nov10... I need to pick less complicated compositions to do. There was no way I was gonna get even close to having anything done in 30 minutes. Bah...

50 Paintings 50 Days - LOTR Uruk Hai - 05Nov10

Second day of my exercise... Uruk Hai from Lord of the Rings. 30 minutes. I am probably going to do a hi-res version of this and give it a lot more detail. I really like how this is coming along.

50 Paintings 50 Days - Girl - 04Nov10

Ok... I recently saw a friend of mine, who is a photographer, that challenged himself to 50 days, taking one photo each day of things that he would not normally shoot to push himself creatively. I was ecited about this and adopted his challenge to suit my needs so I could get better at lighting and blending. So... I am creating one painting (apart from my regular projects) a day for 50 days and I am limited to a 1/2 hour time frame. I am hoping that this exercise will help me get better at painting.
This is my first painting. Enjoy!

Lara Croft

Lara Croft line art by deviantart's horus-goddess. Coloring by me. I really wanted to push myself on this one when it came to ambient and reflective light. I think it turned out pretty good. Lighting has always been a problem for me so I plan on doing some more paintings that address that, and hopefully I will get better.
